Terms and Conditions – The Big Match

These terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) set out the basis on which you can apply to take part in the series entitled “The Big Match” (the “Production”), which Arsenal intends but does not undertake to produce. By applying to take part in the Production and completing the application form, you accept these Terms and Conditions in full. If you do not accept these Terms and Conditions, you should not apply to take part in the Production. Entry is only via online form submission.

ABOUT US: The Arsenal Football Club Limited (company number 109244) (“Arsenal”) is making the Production and is the data controller for the purposes of casting, development, production and distribution of the Production.
THE PRODUCTION: The Production is a documentary dating series that connects fans of Arsenal FC through a mutual love of the club. The intended premise is that two fans will meet at a local venue for a date before they head to an Arsenal game together. The cameras will record the date and interview the couples after the match to see how the date went.
HOW TO APPLY: To apply to take part in the Production, visit https://www.arsenal.com/news/big-match the “Website”) and fill in the online application form (the “Form”) with your name and details.
ELIGIBILITY: Entry is open to anyone that is: (i) over the age of 18; (ii) a British National or is living in the United Kingdom as a legal resident; and (iii) single (the “Eligibility Requirements”). By applying to take part in the Production and completing the Form, you confirm and agree that you comply with the Eligibility Requirements.
CHECKS: If you are selected as a potential contributor, Arsenal may need to undertake background checks in order to verify the information you have provided. You agree to provide Arsenal with any necessary information and documents upon request. Your participation in the Production will be subject to Arsenal receiving and reviewing the necessary paperwork and references. You agree to keep Arsenal fully informed of any change to your circumstances and if you no longer comply with all the Eligibility Requirements.
SELECTION: Arsenal will only contact you if you have been successful in being selected as a potential contributor. All applications for the Production will be assessed at Arsenal’s sole discretion. Arsenal reserves the right to refuse any submitted application and there will be no right of appeal against any decision taken by Arsenal on casting.
You agree and accept that the submission of the Form, receiving any correspondence from the production team and/or attendance at any production days does not constitute an offer to appear in the Production.
Arsenal has no obligation to produce and/or broadcast the Production. Arsenal reserves the right, at Arsenal’s sole discretion, to choose not to select you as a contributor and/or use any footage of you at any time during the production process, even if you have been selected and filmed for the Production.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY: You agree that any photographic material(s), video material(s) and/or any other materials you have submitted as part of your application to appear in the Production (collectively referred to as the “Submission”) may be featured in the Production and you warrant that you have the necessary licences, rights, consents and permissions to authorise Arsenal to use your Submission in full or in part. You grant Arsenal a worldwide, perpetual, royalty free and transferable licence (with the right to sub-licence) to use, edit, record, modify, translate, distribute, make available to others, prepare derivative works of and exploit your Submission by any medium or method whether now known or later developed throughout the world for the full term of copyright and other rights and all renewable and extension thereof. You agree to provide Arsenal with details of all such licences, rights, consents and permissions relating to the Submission if Arsenal so request. For the avoidance of doubt, you agree that Arsenal has no obligation whatsoever to return any materials (including without limitation, the Submission) which you have submitted as part of your Form whether or not you are selected as a participant and that Arsenal is in no way obligated to use any such materials in connection with the Production.
YOUR OBLIGATIONS: You confirm and agree that: (i) that you have answered all of the questions on the Form and will answer any other questions in any other part of the casting process fully, honestly and accurately and confirm that you have not misled or attempted to mislead Arsenal in any way as to your identity, single status, background, health, eligibility for the Production or in any other way; (ii) that if you are selected for participation in the Production, you shall sign a further participant agreement at Arsenal’s request and you shall promptly execute and deliver such participant agreement and perform such acts and complete any other documentation as may be required for the purpose of giving full effect to the participant agreement; and (iii) if you are found to have knowingly supplied inaccurate, misleading or false information at any point, you understand Arsenal will be entitled to exclude you from the casting process, or (if you are selected to participate) exclude you from participating in the Production.
WARRANTIES: You warrant that nothing in your Form will: (i) infringe the copyright or any other right of any third party; (ii) breach any contract or duty of confidence; (iii) constitute a contempt of court or expose Arsenal to any civil or criminal proceedings; and/or (iv) bring Arsenal or any other party into disrepute.
PERSONAL DATA: To apply to take part in the Production, you will be required to give your consent to the processing of your personal and special category person data in accordance with Arsenal’s Privacy Policy available at https://www.arsenal.com/privacy
CONFIDENTIALITY: You will not publish, discuss or disclose to any person any information or audio-visual material concerning Arsenal, the Production or your possible participation in it, whether by means of discussion, letter, press, television interviews, social media postings or otherwise without the prior written consent of Arsenal.
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Applications must not be submitted through agents or third parties. No responsibility can be accepted for lost, delayed or incomplete applications.
Arsenal reserves the right to withdraw or amend these Terms and Conditions.
If you or any member of your immediate family and/or household are currently or in the past twelve months has been an employee, contractor, officer, director or agent of Arsenal, you agree to notify us on the Form.
Arsenal’s decision is final in all matters relating to the Production and no correspondence will be entered into.
Except in respect of death or personal injury resulting from any negligence of Arsenal, to the maximum extent permitted by law, neither Arsenal nor any of its officers, employees or agents shall be responsible for (whether in tort, contract or otherwise):
any loss, damage or injury to you and/or any third party or to any property belonging to you or any third party in connection your application for the Production resulting from any cause whatsoever; or
any loss of profit, loss of use, loss of opportunity or any indirect, economic or consequential losses whatsoever and howsoever caused.
Please note that these Terms and Conditions are governed by English law. This means that your application for the Production and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it will be governed by English law. You and Arsenal both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have non-exclusive jurisdiction in connection with any such dispute or claim.
You agree that we may freely assign or licence your Form (including these Terms and Conditions).
