Medical and Sports Science Challenges in Academy Football

MANCHESTER UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB - SPORTS MEDICINE CONFERENCE - NOVEMBER 2020

Dr Steve McNally, Manchester United Football Club Head of Football Medicine and Science and Professor Michael Callaghan, Head of Physical Therapies, are pleased to confirm that the Fourth Manchester United Sports Medicine Conference will take place on Friday 13th November 2020. As you can imagine, the pandemic has made us rethink how we can deliver safely the Manchester United FC Sports Medicine Conference. The UK Government guidelines still encourage social distancing and there may be travel restrictions. There may also be local lockdowns enforced.

Despite these uncertainties we have decided to plan ahead with a virtual version of the conference. This will be open to medical, sports science and healthcare professionals working across all sports.

The theme of this year's conference is the medical, rehabilitation problems and sports science issues for Academy football. We are focusing on rehabilitation, cardiac issues, adolescent concussion, sports and conditioning, psychology, and maturation.
